MESSAGE FROM THE ALTAR. DEVOTIONAL SERVICE 11/04/2021

FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST.

LUKE 5:10

….. Then Jesus said to Simon, ” Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men. “

Being a Christian entails being like Christ. The earliest people who had contact with Jesus Christ saw themselves as His followers, as apostles. It was other people that called them Christians because they found the followers to be true disciples of Jesus Christ confirmed by their living style.
What does it really take to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of Mankind?
—– Get attracted to His wisdom and strength. We need His wisdom and strength to survive in this world that has become chaotic and only more gloom looming.
—— Cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Cherish fellowship with Him through prayers and studying the Bible , God’s message to the World. Jesus Christ wants to be our friend. He paid the price for our redemption. Nobody else did. We owe Him our adoration, our love and life. We can never match His love for us but we can give our best.
—— Live like Jesus Christ. He lived a sacrificial life giving hope and succour to others; turning mourning to celebrations for everyone He touched through the grace upon His earthly existence. Jesus Christ wants us to lead victorious lives devoid of anxiety. The only way to achieve this hope of Jesus Christ for us is to be more like Him. We must give our efforts to be like Him tremendous boost.

—— We must believe and follow the teachings of the greatest Teacher that ever lived. The messages of Jesus Christ have remained the only way to achieve victorious living while in this world of trepidation and uncertainties. And Jesus Christ is the only way to everlasting life in the Kingdom of God Almighty . No other way. Jesus Christ is the only Way.
——- In our obedience to Jesus Christ, we must be fully convinced of our partnership with Him in carrying out His Great Commission Commission . Jesus Christ has ordered us to preach the gospel and release satanic captives from their dungeon; to win souls to God’s Kingdom while depopulating satanic strongholds. This a task that must not be handled with levity. The devil is really roaring and we need the strength of Jesus Christ to survive the imminent bloodshed looming and striving for release in a country under siege.
—— Following Jesus Christ has always been at a cost. It demands total loyalty to Him as Lord and Saviour. You are not permitted to be in His Divine Camp and same time in Satan’s camp. You must make a choice. The tortuous prison of satanic kingdom must not be our lot. The only alternative is the Rock if Ages; the King of kings; the Alpha and. Omega.
What ever you have lost because of Jesus Christ, you will gain more by following Him.
Whatever you desire to be, according to God’s will, following Jesus Christ empowers you to triumph

No matter how boisterous the storm in your life is, following Jesus Christ will calm the storm because only Jesus Christ calms storms. No one else.
No matter what the enemy has taken from you, in following Jesus Christ you are empowered to recoverl and repossess all.
It’s in following Jesus Christ that you can have the assurance of life after life. We don’t have a better choice.
Let’s keep following Jesus Christ and encourage others to make same choice that in fellowship with our Lord and Saviour we will have peace in a disturbed world.

Food for thought :
If a gun is pointed at your head, to deny Jesus Christ and live or affirming your loyalty to Him and die, what will you choose?
May God have mercy on us and strengthen us to overcome temptations on this Pilgrims’ way.

*** An agonizing period, worse than ever before, is looming over the Country. We need to intercede for God to have mercy . Please, let’s us find time to pray for Divine intervention, particularly now .
Bloodshed, more bloodshed, pogrom must be averted. It’s looming large!
.Deliver us, O Lord, from invading demons and their human agents who destroy the children of God with venom. They are the vowed enemies of Jesus Christ.

Beloved, fear not. The battle of your life is for the Lord, so hold your peace. Just keep following Jesus Christ and you will live in peace.
As for me and my household, we have chosen to follow Jesus Christ at whatever cost.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS OF GLORY


IT IS FINISHED

MARK 16:6-7

6. the young man said to them, “Don’t panic! You’re looking for Jesus from Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been brought back to life. He’s not here. Look at the place where they laid him.
7. Go and tell his disciples and Peter that he’s going ahead of them to Galilee. There they will see him, just as he told them. “


ISAIAH 53: 5

He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, and we received healing from his wounds.

1 PETER 1:18-21

18. Realize that you weren’t set free from the worthless life handed down to you from your ancestors by a payment of silver or gold which can be destroyed.
19. Rather, the payment that freed you was the precious blood of Christ , the lamb with no defects or imperfections.
20. He is the lamb who was known long ago before the world existed, but for your good he became publicly known in the last period of time.
21. Through him you believe in God who brought Christ back to life and gave him Glory. So your faith and confidence are in God.

1 PETER 1:24-25

24. “all people are like grass, and all their beauty is like a flower of the field. The grass dries up and the flower drops off,
25. but the word of the Lord lasts forever. “
This is the Good News that was told to you.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a confirmation that Jesus was not only the Son of man but also the Son of God. It’s natural for a man to die but to also resurrect as predicted by same person is definitely unnatural. It’s supernatural.
It is through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross that believers received forgiveness for their sins. Believers became justified and sanctified. If Jesus had not laid down His life as sacrificial offering, sinners would not have been forgiven and reconciled to God.
Man’s sinful nature was crucified with Christ giving man dominion over the power of sin.
His resurrection gave believers the hope of resurrection, victory over death. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ confirmed that He is the resurrection and the life.

Jesus said to her, “I am the one who brings people back to life, and I am life itself. Those who believe in me will live even if they die.
(John 11:25).

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gave the Church the advent of the Holy Spirit and the ministry gifts cum fruits.
To the glory of God, it is in the flogging of Jesus Christ before His crucifixion that makes divine healing available to believers for all times.
Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we’re guaranteed of our future resurrection and everlasting life with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God.
But, this hope is only for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

This glory is reserved only for those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. It is not for nonbelievers. You can not serve God and Satan at the same time. There is no other way to the Kingdom of God except the Way, Jesus Christ.
Yet, there’s hope for those who are yet to be reconciled to God ; those who are still languishing under satanic yoke through false religions, false prophets and false doctrines. The ever merciful Christ is asking such a soul to come NOW for Salvation.
Pray the prayer of faith as you acknowledge your sinful nature, repent and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

“O Lord God, I come unto you today. I know. I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross to save me and resurrected the third day. I repent and confess my sins. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and surrender my life to Him today. I invite Jesus Christ into my heart today. By this prayer, I know I am saved. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for saving me and making me a child of God.

The finished work on the cross of Calvary and the resurrection of Jesus Christ remain one of God’s greatest mysteries and epitomizes His unfathomable love for humanity.
Therefore, as we celebrate this great love of God and His glory, let’s set aside hatred in all forms and embrace love for one another.
Beloved, let’s be sober as we take cognizance of the second coming of Jesus Christ.
