JOHN 14:12-14.12. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will even do greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (NIV) The world is running out of time. Foretold horrors are rapidly unfolding. People all over the world are experiencing sorrow in unimaginable proportions. In our own country, terrifying deeds have become the norm and the level of insecurity has turned our human wisdom into foolishness. The people are distraught and distressed. The country besieged by satanic hordes leaving horrific trails as they trample upon the Land. Jesus Christ knew what would be. He has always been compassionate concerning the world which He came to save. He saw the need to empower those who would believe in Him and trust Him for safety in all times, but particularly times like this. Therefore, as He was preparing to fulfil His earthly assignment through the Cross, He promised to send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to be with His followers to empower them so as not to be overwhelmed by the world. ” And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. ” John 14:16 – . Jesus Christ told the disciples :”I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will also live. ” John 14:18-19. How can the followers of Jesus Christ have access to the Comforter, the Spirit of truth? How can the followers of Jesus Christ still see Him when the world can no more see Him? How can the disciples of Jesus Christ live in peace in a distressed world? Jesus Christ resolved the puzzles Himself. “You may ask for anything in my name, and I will do it. ” John 14:14. Prayer is the key. Faith turns the key and the door to God’s great storehouse of blessings opens. All our past failures and unfruitfulness can be banished as we engage in effective prayer. What ever we want to be depends on prayers. Many people feel unworthy to come before God while many others believe that God may not answer if they ask for great things. We’re, in fact, unworthy. But, the issue is not our worth but Jesus Christ’s worth. We come to God in the name of Jesus Christ and are counted worthy of God’s attention. Jesus Christ gave us a blank cheque. We’re at liberty to ask for anything and everything as long as we ask with pure heart. Our own will must be set aside for the will of God.”Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. ” 2Timothy 2:22. Ask with pure heart. Only those who call on the Lord out of pure heart can confidently receive answers to their prayers and do great things in Jesus Christ’s name. May God give us victory over our sins, especially the sins that so easily beset us, in Jesus Christ’s name. It is time for us to give prayer it’s proper place. It is time to ask God to save us from the satanic strongholds. It is time for us to call on our God to ambush the external aggressors and their collaborators within. It is time to pray for the Church to perform greater exploits in deliverance and healing, not just counting God’s blessings in terms of financial aid material accumulations. It is time to intercede for the distressed in our midst. It is time to exercise the great power of the Holy Spirit to force stop humiliations from Antichrist forces wielding weapons of brutality. It is time to ask for great revival; to win souls and more souls for God’s Kingdom. It is time to ask. Let us not wait for a convenient time. We do not have that liberty. Shalom.
