THE TRUMPETS
REVELATION 8 : 1 – 2
- When the Lamb broke open the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
- Then I saw seven angels who stand who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets.
(GOOD NEWS BIBLE). There’s no doubt whatsoever that we will die someday; there’s no doubt that most people will never know when death will come; and there’s no doubt that most people will never know how and when death will come. What is certain is that we came from God and to Him we must return after our time on earth. What is obvious is that we will account for our stewardship; whether we live according to God’s purpose or whether we live a life of disobedience; and what is certain is that there will be reward for obedience and repercussions for disobedience. The Holy Bible makes it clear that the obedient will be rewarded with everlasting life in God’s Kingdom while the disobedient will languish in perdition. There is no repentance after death and there is no purgatory either.
” Every one of us, then, will have to give an account of ourselves to God.” Romans 14:12.
It is also obvious that only those who accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ, live and die in Him will be saved for there is no other that will be the Judge of our deeds except the Son of God, the Lord and Saviour of mankind.
“Nor does the Father himself judge anyone. He has given his Son the full right to judge, so that all will honour the Son in the same way as they honour the Father. Whoever does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him.” John 5:22-23.
The question is where will you be when the trumpets will sound ? In what shape will you be in when death will come calling ? Will you be on the side of God or in bondage to satan ? Will you be caught in the end in human nature or filled with God’s spirit ?
“What human nature does is quite plain. It shows itself in immoral, filthy, and indecent actions; in worship of idols and witchcraft. People become enemies and they fight; they become jealous, angry and ambitious. They seperate into parties and groups; they are envious, get drunk, have orgies, and do other things like these. I warn you now as I have before: those who do these things will not possess the Kingdom of God.
But the spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self control.” Galatians 5:19-23.
I ask again, in what shape will you be when the trumpets sound : General Overseer, Reverend, Bishop, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Elder, Deacon, Deaconess, Choir-master, Brother, Sister ?
In what frame of heart will you be when the trumpets sound: Bandits, killer herdsman, Kidnapper, Cultist, Terrorist, Sponsor of terror, Oppressor, Hypocrite, Fornicator, Idolater, Drunkard, Reveller, Prostitute, Glutton, Gossiper, Diabolical, the avaricious ?
In what disposition will I be when the trumpets sound ?
People may not know who you are or what you do, but you can not hide from God .
“Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. People will reap exactly what they sow.” Galatians 6:7.
This is the time for self- examination. The fact that you are reading this message shows that you still have a chance to repent of all forms of ungodliness. It is time to walk aright with God. It is time to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ and it is time to accommodate the Holy Spirit who helps us to live the life acceptable to God.
May we not miss everlasting life, in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
