LAMENTATIONS

JEREMIAH 31:15-17

  1. In Ramah a voice is heard, crying and weeping loudly. Rachel mourns for her children and refuses to be comforted, because they are dead.
  2. But, I, the Lord, say to dry your tears. Someday your children will come home from the enemy’s land. Then all you have done for
    them will be greatly rewarded.
  3. So, don’t lose hope. I, the Lord , have spoken.

MATTHEW 2:16-18

  1. When Herod found out that the wise men from the east had tricked him, he was very angry. He gave orders for his men to kill all the boys who lived in or near Bethlehem and were two years old and younger. This was based on what he had learned from the wise men.
  2. So, the Lord’s promise came true, just as the prophet Jeremiah had said,
  3. “In Ramah a voice was heard crying and weeping loudly. Rachel was mourning for her children, and she refused to be comforted, because they were dead.”
(CEV). The Land, this Country, is in a state of mourning. Terror and acts of terrorism have taken away laughter from the people. Murder, hostages taking, arson, raping, kidnapping , slavery , religious intolerance, ethnic cleansing, robbery, hatred, fear, insecurities, bring sorrow upon our land.
Our eyes shed tears; our eyelids run down with water. We’re being slaughtered like animals by demonized and depraved minds bereft of humanity.
Those saddled with the responsibility of providing security are overwhelmed as hordes of terrorists maim, kill and destroy wantonly. Wives are forcibly taken from husbands and sexually molested; children are taken from parents , held in captivity and sold into slavery; fathers are taken from their homes, humiliated and killed; travellers are kidnapped and sold to bidders; innocent school children go through excruciating experiences and death; as farmlands turn to abattoirs.
Our eyes have shed tears. Our eyelids run down with water.
We are wondering who the fundraisers of terrorism are. We wonder who supplies the needs of the network of terrorism. We are wondering if those saddled with maintaining peace are complicit in perpetuating terror.
We’re downcast as grieving mothers wail over their massacred children.
” Rachel is weeping for her children; and she refused to be comforted, because they were no more ” Jeremiah 31:15.

“They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.
They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.
I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you.” John 16:2-4.

You have seen the picture and you have known the truth. Jesus Christ has given us the roadmap of what the experiences must be from here to the hereafter. Nobody has ever done so.

We must be prepared to meet our Creator anytime. Evil and chaos will become the norm as we get closer to Jesus Christ’s second coming, yet what we’re experiencing now, that has brought about lamentations, is just the tip of the iceberg. We have little time left. We need to give our lives, in totality, to the service of our Saviour Jesus Christ. We need to go on vigorous evangelism to rescue the lost souls.
Only Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit can comfort us. Only through the name of Jesus Christ can we raise standards against these hordes from the gates of hell. Only in the name of Jesus Christ can we have peace in the midst of calamities. Our victories are realistic in the name of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, let’s gird our loins; let week knees be strengthened and let feeble hands receive power as tongues of fire decree destruction into the enemies’ camps.
Weep no more for there’s safety and hope in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If you have not surrendered your life and accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour, you’re in great danger here and ,of course, in the hereafter your name will not be found in the Book of Life. Accept Jesus Christ today and live.
Shalom.
